Here’s my pitch: “Futas for You 2.” Yoruichi becomes a real futa, while Tifa somehow gets mixed up in all this.
The idea came to me while I was recovering from an injury. I had planned to do another episode of S&S, but then I changed my mind. It’s been a decade since the original “Futas For You,” and people want more of it. But couldn’t do it mainly because of priorities. A few months ago, I revisited Rangiku and received similar feedback. I also missed these characters. Now, my bike accident could have been much worse, depriving me of the chance to make this happen. So, screw it. I’ll make the sequel, no matter how long it takes. Life is too short and unpredictable. I have to do it before the universe deletes me.
The estimated cost for this project is $19,140 USD, based on our country’s animation industry rates. This is a rough estimate; animators here are typically paid a minimum of $15 USD per second of animation. Prices can increase depending on the style and complexity of the project. Apparently, nobody in their right mind will actually accept a $15 rate for the style of animation I am doing. For this sequel, I priced it at $60 USD per second. I think that is fair in the context of a long form content mainly because my heart is involved, hence another discount, unlike my loop commission price. But it’s another kind of beast, and I would like to stick to the main topic. Main point is, if I were a studio, I’d need to cover production assistants, layout, compositing, storyboarding, editing, directing, and multiple animators. Additionally, there are other expenses like studio rent, IT services, accounting, utilities, and taxes. Considering all these factors, $60 USD per second is still relatively cheap, as I’m outside the system. Actual studios might charge six figures for such a project. When I first started, I undercharged for commissions, mainly to gain exposure. But that was a decade ago. Now, I need to be fair to myself, especially with today’s higher costs. 5 mins and 19 seconds is 319 second so multiplied to $60 rate, that is the cost. This only covers animation. The voice acting is will be a separate expense.
Therefore, I’m seeking additional sponsors for this project. One person can’t shoulder all of this alone. Sponsorship funds will go towards hiring animators to assist with tasks like color shading, reducing my workload by approximately 40% per scene.
While I could manage with just Patreon funds, this sequel would take too long to produce without sponsors. I currently earn only $1.3k-$1.5k gross per month, and I also have ongoing expenses. Given the projected production costs, it would take me about three years just to break even with the resources I’m investing.
